This course is designed for line management, supervisory staff, safety representatives and all other employees involved in the use, transport or storage of potentially hazardous substances. To provide adequate knowledge to:

Course Contents

An understanding of the COSHH Regulations 2002 and associated (REACH) Regulations Classification of substances and method of entry into the human body Possible effects of substances on the body Understanding Safety Data Sheets Benefits to a business of ensuring compliance with COSHH The 8 point method to ensure compliance including : Assess the risks and deciding what precautions are needed. Prevent or adequately control exposure. Ensure that control measures are used and maintained Monitor exposure Carry out appropriate health surveillance Prepare plans and procedures to deal with accidents, incidents and emergencies. Ensure staff are properly informed, trained and supervised Establishing good working practices.

 

Certification

Successful candidates will be issued with a certificate of attendance entitled:
Workplace COSHH Awareness
Certificates will be valid for 1 year
