This course is primarily designed to provide line managers, supervisory staff and other employees with an overall knowledge of identifying and managing risks when working at height.  It will provide an overall understanding of the Work at Height Regulations 2005 (amended 2007) and associated regulations and how it can be applied and managed in a workplace situation.

  • Background to the Work at Height Regulations 2005 (amended 2007) and associated other legislation
  • Duties of the regulations
  • Applying the hierarchy of fall protection and avoiding work at height
  • Collective fall prevention - Existing places of work
  • Collective fall prevention - Work equipment
  • Individual fall prevention
  • Collective and individual fall limitation
  • The inspection of harnesses and lanyards
  • Safe use of ladders and steps

Certification

Successful candidates will be issued with a certificate of attendance entitled:
Working at Height
Certificates will be valid for 1 year
