Course Info

This course is designed for Line Managers, Supervisors and Safety Representatives. It can be tailored to address specific risks in any particular area of the workplace such as:

• The use, storage and transport of hazardous substances (COSHH)
• Manual Handling
• Working at Height etc.

The Course provides an overall understanding of the legislative requirements placed on employers by the Management of Health and Safety at Work regulations to carry out suitable and sufficient assessment of workplace risks.

Course Contents

Relevant legislation including Management of Health & Safety at Work Regulations 1999

The five step approach to risk assessment:

• Identifying and classifying workplace hazards – understanding the possible consequence of various types of hazards
• Understanding who is at risk
• Evaluating risks and implementing suitable control measures
• Recording findings
• Reviewing and updating existing measures

Successful candidates will be issued with a certificate of attendance entitled:
Workplace Risk Assessment
Certificates will be valid for 1 year
