First Aid training in the workplace can save lives, giving staff the confidence and ability to react immediately and appropriately in an emergency. First Aid training makes staff more conscious of potential risks, leading to less accidents and injuries. Swift action in the event of an injury or illness can reduce the recovery time of the patient and increase the likelihood of them making a full recovery.
First Aid training gives staff the confidence to know what to do in an emergency, reducing fear and confusion in colleagues.

All courses offered by First Response First Aid meet regulatory compliance requirements, where applicable.
This legislation requires employers to provide adequate and appropriate equipment, facilities, and personnel to ensure their employees receive immediate attention if they are injured or taken ill at work.
FRFA’s 3-day First Aid at Work course fulfils this legal requirement, ensuring that employees are competent and confident across multiple aspects of first aid.
The consequences of non-compliance with first aid regulations can be serious. Not having immediate access to qualified first aid personnel puts employees at risk. An injured employee may have stronger grounds to take legal action against their employer. The Health & Safety Executive (HSE) may also take legal action.
This depends on several factors, such as the number of employees, the type of workplace, and the level of risk. FRFA can carry out a first aid needs assessment to advise employers on their requirements.
The minimum legal requirement is one appointed person for every 25 employees. For more than 50 employees, only one appointed person is needed for every 100 employees.
Having ample staff qualified in first aid isn’t just a legal requirement. It supports staff safety and wellbeing, personal development, and the wider community.
Due to the nature of the first aid qualification, the practical aspects of the course must be taught and assessed in-person. FRFA has two delivery models for the First Aid at Work qualification. In-Person: All 3 days of the course are delivered face-to-face at a suitable venue, 6 hours per day. The advantage of this model is theory and practical learning can be mixed throughout the course.
Blended First Aid Training: A 6-hour eLearning course, covering all the theory, which can be completed in more than 1 sitting, followed by a 2-day in-person course. The advantage of this model is increased flexibility. Both delivery models enable delegates to successfully achieve their accredited First Aid at Work qualification.
The accredited qualification is valid for 3 years. Towards the end of the 3-year period we will notify delegates that they need to renew their qualification by taking the First Aid at Work Requalification Course. This is 2 days (12 hours) and is also delivered as both in-person and blended models.
FRFA’s First Aid at Work Course is accredited by the First Aid Industry Body (FAIB). It’s important that the course is accredited by a recognised awarding body, ensuring a quality qualification which is nationally recognised.
Ensuring your staff are trained in First Aid Training in the Workplace is essential for compliance, safety, and wellbeing. Giving staff this opportunity not only protects against legal action, but also safeguards staff health and can support retention.
FRFA’s First Aid at Work Course is a robust and quality-assured qualification, giving employers peace of mind and supporting employee wellbeing and development.
