A recent survey of 2000 adults found that nearly two thirds of the UK population are not First Aid trained. In Birmingham, only 37% of adults are trained in First Aid.

The main explanation that was given for not assisting in an emergency situation was not knowing what to do (30%), whilst 7% of respondents said that they would be scared for their own safety.

The study also highlighted differences between younger and older generations, with those aged between 16 and 24 twice as likely to know first aid than those older than 55.

How about you? Are you First Aid trained? How confident would you be in a crisis?

Being First Aid trained means that you can cope in an emergency with calmness, clarity and confidence. Staying cool, calm and collected will mean that you can offer support to the injured person and help prevent them from being frightened, which has been found to lessen pain extremely well.

At First Response First Aid Ltd, we provide practical, hands-on First Aid training courses that will give you all these skills and more. Don’t take our word for it…
