First Aid at Work Requalification - Course Overview

The First Aid at Work Requalification course is designed for qualified workplace first aiders who need to renew their certification and keep their skills up to date.

Covering the same core topics as the original First Aid at Work qualification, this course refreshes learners’ knowledge and practical abilities, helping them continue to respond confidently and effectively in workplace emergency situations.

Delivered in line with the Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981, the requalification course takes place over 2 days (12 hours), allowing learners to maintain their qualification without repeating the full 3-day course.

Who Is This Course Suitable For?

This course is intended for learners who currently hold a valid First Aid at Work certificate and need to renew their qualification.

It is suitable for:

  • Designated workplace first aiders
  • Employees responsible for workplace emergency response
  • Businesses wanting to maintain compliance with first aid requirements
  • Learners looking to refresh their practical first aid skills and confidence

The course is appropriate for a wide range of industries and working environments, from offices and schools to retail, hospitality, warehousing, manufacturing and construction.

Delivered in accordance with Appendix 5 and 6 of the Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981, the First Aid at Work Requalification course refreshes the key knowledge and practical skills required to act as a qualified workplace first aider.

The course is divided into two units, covering both emergency first aid procedures and the recognition and management of serious injuries and medical conditions.

By the end of the course, learners will have refreshed their practical first aid skills and feel confident responding to a variety of workplace emergency situations.

Upon successful completion of the course, learners will receive a Level 3 First Aid at Work Requalification certificate, valid for three years.

This qualification confirms that the learner has refreshed the required knowledge and practical skills needed to continue acting as a designated workplace first aider.

To maintain continuous certification, learners should complete their requalification training before their current certificate expires.

It's the first time I've ever done a First Response First Aid course, as I've always done a St Johns before now. I'm very impressed as I didn't glaze over.

    Natalie,

I just wanted to praise Mick for the 2 day first aid refresher course that I attended on 3rd and 4th April 2019. I found that he was a lovely man and teacher and made the course really enjoyable. I have come away feeling that I have learnt something new and gave me the confidence and assistance in order for me to put this into practice in real life. I feel properly trained thanks to Mick and able to cope with anybody that needs first aid. I can't thank Mick enough for what he has taught me.

While I think about it, I just want to take the time to pass on my thanks to everyone at FRFA. Every time I organise a course here at the Loughborough Learning Alliance, I always think about providing feedback but then forget or never get around to it - I'm so sorry! I want to say thank you to all of you for the amazing work you do. From the initial enquiry, which is handled so well and quickly, up to the end of the day when the course has finished, the service is absolutely amazing and faultless. Each and every one of your trainers are just such fantastic people, and I can honestly say, it's such a pleasure for them to come and facilitate courses for all our local Schools. They are always so friendly and so happy in their jobs! I think they all have a great sense of humour too. Every single person who books the courses always has such great feedback at the end of the day. I would honestly never use a different First Aid company for all of our training. If we don't have a course coming up, I'll always go on your website and find a local Open Course for them and pass on the recommendation. Keep up the amazing work, thank you! Kind Regards Jess

On behalf of my clients Greg, Chris and Martin and myself I would like to say a big thank you to Mike for delivering an excellent course today. With a lot of passion, enthusiasm, and humour together with practical and helpful hands-on interaction, the whole group became involved in a very enjoyable training day. As it was 10 yrs since I did my last first aid course, I learnt a lot and appreciate being brought up to date with the various changes and new topics not previously covered. Well done!

I completed a paediatric first aid course with Tom MacArthur a few weeks ago. Today my daughter was showing signs of meningitis with an extremely high temperature. I would like you to pass on my thanks to Tom for teaching me as well as he did because his voice was ringing in my ears telling what I should do, I remained calm and felt confident that I was able to manage the situation until the emergency services arrived. I have had first aid training in the past but none have been as effective, Tom is a real credit to your company. Please pass on my thanks to him, his training was invaluable to me today.

The trainer's mixture of subtle black country humour, relaxed persona, positive non-verbal communication and technically accurate information, enhanced with his personal experiences, made this man both a pleasure to listen to and learn from.

I wanted to let you know that in 22 years, this was by far the best first aid course I have ever been on. The trainer (Glenn Hulse) was really thorough, his explanations and demonstrations were clear, and the course was good value for money because he delivered more than the 12 full hours, no time was wasted, and I came away confident that I can cope in an emergency
