First Aid at Work Requalification Blended - Course Overview

The blended First Aid at Work requalification course allows learners to achieve the full First Aid at Work qualification by completing an eLearning course before attending only 1-day face-to-face training. The eLearning can be done at the learner's own pace and can be completed in more than 1 sitting. The eLearning is designed to take 6 hours; however, this time differs depending on the learner's IT skills and prior knowledge of the subject.

This First Aid at Work Requalification syllabus covers the same topics as those in the initial First Aid at Work course. However, training and assessment are only 12 hours. This course complies with the Health and Safety (First-Aid) regulations 1981 (Appendix 5 Content of a first aid at work (FAW) course). Candidates successfully completing this course will be entitled to act as a first-aider in the workplace.

Course Structure

The blended First Aid at Work requalification course consists of 2 steps and is to be completed in the order detailed below:

  • Step 1 -  involves completing an interactive eLearning course. The course booker will receive the eLearning access details approximately 14 days before the face-to-face session. The details can be sent sooner if required. However, it's our recommendation the eLearning is completed within a 14-day period before the practical session. The eLearning can be done at the learner's own pace and can be completed in more than 1 sitting as the progress is saved. The eLearning is designed to take 6 hours; however, this time differs depending on the learner's IT skills and prior knowledge of the subject.
  • Step 2 - a 1-day face-to-face course where candidates will learn, demonstrate and be assessed on all of the practical sections of the course. This session will provide you with practical skills to support your new theoretical knowledge.

Thank you so much for he First Aid course that Sarah ran for us last Wednesday and the Wednesday before. We all really enjoyed ourselves and Sarah was a great "teacher" making the course really informative and useful but not threatening at the same time ! We have all been on courses where you are frightened to get anything wrong but everyone had nothing but praise for Sarah. Please pass on our thanks to her.

I just wanted to pass on how much all the staff who attended enjoyed the excellent Defib training yesterday with Rod. We all found it interesting, informative and extremely well taught. Thanks to Rod, we all feel very confident that we would be able to deal with an emergency situation that required either CPR or use of a Defib. Many thanks

While I think about it, I just want to take the time to pass on my thanks to everyone at FRFA. Every time I organise a course here at the Loughborough Learning Alliance, I always think about providing feedback but then forget or never get around to it - I'm so sorry! I want to say thank you to all of you for the amazing work you do. From the initial enquiry, which is handled so well and quickly, up to the end of the day when the course has finished, the service is absolutely amazing and faultless. Each and every one of your trainers are just such fantastic people, and I can honestly say, it's such a pleasure for them to come and facilitate courses for all our local Schools. They are always so friendly and so happy in their jobs! I think they all have a great sense of humour too. Every single person who books the courses always has such great feedback at the end of the day. I would honestly never use a different First Aid company for all of our training. If we don't have a course coming up, I'll always go on your website and find a local Open Course for them and pass on the recommendation. Keep up the amazing work, thank you! Kind Regards Jess

I would just like to say I found the course well structured, and very informative with special emphasis on excellent presentation. The instructor Mr Brian Dennant was obviously very knowledgeable and experienced, he possessed excellent communicating skills and made the group and myself feel at ease from the outset. It was excellent; we all enjoyed the two days thoroughly. Thank you so much! Fantastic instructor, made me feel a lot more confident.
