This Initial course has been designed to enable trainees to be able to carry out People Moving & Handling techniques correctly

Who is this course for?

This course is ideal for those working in the care environment and has had no previous training; candidates will practice tasks using beds, hoists and chairs.

Introduction to Safer handling people
Legal Requirements
Spinal Awareness
Importance of posture
Causes of injury / how to avoid them
Risk assessment (TILE)
Principles of safer handling
Controversial handling techniques
Selection & use of moving & handling equipment
Practical session, including problem solving

Certification

Successful candidates will be awarded the People Moving & Handling certificate valid for 3 years

Accreditation

Accreditation is provided by First Response First Aid Ltd

I am writing to offer some feedback around the recent training that Nigel recently received courtesy of SMBC Early Years. Nigel has a training background himself and he came back from the course full of compliments for ‘Glenn' from First Response, he said the trainer was supportive, informative and very professional. He delivered the course at an even pace to cater for the participants learning need, he demonstrated patience when members in the group did not fully understand anything, the occasions for which were in themselves few and far between. The course was enjoyable and he certainly benefited from the updates that it included. We will be recommending your services.

The instructor Mr Brian Dennant was obviously very knowledgeable and experienced, he possessed excellent communicating skills and made the group and myself feel at ease from the outset. I just wanted to praise Mick for the 2 day first aid refresher course that I attended on 3rd and 4th April 2019. I found that he was a lovely man and teacher and made the course really enjoyable. I have come away feeling that I have learnt something new and gave me the confidence and assistance in order for me to put this into practice in real life. I feel properly trained thanks to Mick and able to cope with anybody that needs first aid. I can't thank Mick enough for what he has taught me.
First Aid Refresher Training

We had our basic paediatric first aid course in Stoke on Trent this morning, and I just wanted to say that Andy Jones who delivered our training was fantastic.
