Bite Size First Aid - Course Overview

This short, bite sized training session is designed as a taster in emergency first aid procedures for adults, children, and babies. It provides a simple introduction to managing common first aid situations, helping participants feel more confident responding in the early stages of an incident.

Training covers how to manage a first aid incident, place an unconscious casualty into the recovery position, perform CPR for adults, children, and babies, and recognise and respond to choking and seizures. A question-and-answer session is also included, giving participants the chance to clarify key points and build understanding in a relaxed learning environment.

Who Is This Course For?

This course is ideal for anyone looking for a basic introduction to first aid, including parents, carers, workplace staff, and individuals with little or no previous first aid experience.

It works well as a taster for those considering more in-depth first aid training in the future, offering a good starting point before progressing to courses such as Emergency First Aid at Work or Emergency Paediatric First Aid.

What You'll Learn

  • How to manage a first aid incident
  • Dealing with an unconscious casualty/recovery position
  • Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (adults, children and babies)
  • Recognition and treatment of choking
  • Recognition and treatment of seizures
  • Question and answer session

On completion, participants will receive a certificate of attendance, valid for 3 years.

This confirms participation in the training and provides a record of introductory first aid awareness. As this is a taster course, refresher or progression training is recommended for those requiring recognised first aid qualifications.

Accreditation for this course is provided by First Response First Aid Ltd in accordance with the Health & Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981.

This ensures the training meets recognised standards and is delivered in line with current best practice, giving participants confidence that course content aligns with UK first aid requirements.

I feel more confident about my first aid than after previous courses I have been on. I'm impressed at how well Glenn coped with targeting content to a "Unique" team of people! He's a good sport!

I just wanted to reiterate how good the trainer was. All the staff came in to see me afterwards and said it was the best First Aid course they had attended. One of the main positives was that he made it specific to their jobs and environment. Also, the blended sessions seemed to work really well. Kind regards Karen

May I express my sincere thanks in the course taken this week which I earlier today obtained my FAW. From the initial contact with yourselves the service provided was very prompt, efficient and professional without any faults, issues or hiccups which seems to be the norm these days. On to the actual course. The tutors (Brian & Mick Dennant) delivering the training was 1st class in that not only did they keep the flow going but interesting and to the point without any lethargic or boredom points that can arise in some training. They are not only a credit to First Response but also contenders for the stage should they wish a change in career direction as the humour was uplifting and consistent.
