Oxygen Therapy - Course Overview

This half-day training introduces participants to the safe use of oxygen therapy in emergency situations, helping build confidence in supporting a casualty when breathing is compromised.

The session covers how breathing works, when oxygen therapy should be used (and when it shouldn’t), different types of face masks, and how to safely store, assemble, and use oxygen equipment. Participants also learn when treatment should be stopped, giving a clear understanding of how to respond calmly and appropriately when oxygen therapy is required.

Who Is This Course For?

This training is suitable for anyone who may need to administer oxygen as part of their role, including workplace first aiders and care staff. It is particularly helpful for organisations that already have oxygen equipment on site and want staff to feel confident using it safely.

The course also works well alongside other first aid training such as Automated External Defibrillator (AED) and Basic Life Support including CPR (BLS), supporting a wider understanding of emergency care.

I would like to tell you how much I enjoyed the course. Glen was an exceptional teacher. He made us all feel comfortable and supported us as well as preparing us for the assessments. I felt confident in his ability and he seemed very knowledgeable answering all of our many questions. I was very pleasantly surprised how interesting this course was. Glen made the course engaging, his descriptions were clear, his feedback was always constructive and he was always very positive and cheerful even at 9pm on a Monday. I will be recommending this course to others and would like you to pass on my thanks to Glen. He is truly an asset to your company.

“I want to say a big THANK YOU. Your first aid course saved my grandson's life today, he choked badly and I managed to dislodge the bread from his mouth, after about 12 back slaps. Your courses save lives. I will never moan about doing a first aid course again! THANK YOU!”

Style of delivery was great, made a difficult subject simple and a "can do approach". When I say simple, I meant it was broken down into common sense - which is what it should be.
